Travel- Kinkaku-Ji (The Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto

Nothing is as symbolic of Kyoto as Kinkaku-ji's golden reflection shimmering on the surface of the pond before it. A number of people should be familiar with such a picture as it appears on postcards along with guidebooks. I would choose to share my personal knowledge about Kinkakuji.

When I initial visited Kinkakuji Temple, the expectation was not too high. I have always recently been a big fan of Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) for the wabi, Sabi and Shibui concept and I've enjoyed visiting there many times. But it took me a long time to visit Kinkakuji finally until considered one of my friends visiting Okazaki , japan requested a Kinkakuji visit during her stay within Kyoto. I have to confess I used to connect the gold leaf spanning Kinkakuji with some air of vulgar prosperity and also think that's not my taste.

However, when When i visited Kinkakuji finally in addition to faced it, I stood in awe of just how gold Kinkakuji actually appeared. The pavilion appeared to float on the small lake. It was bright, obviously, but in a "dull" way. Its gold folio was clear and impressive, but not overwhelming when i expected it would be. There was a constructive yet quiet aura emanating from the historical structure... According to the Japanese aesthetics, "the aristocratic best of "Miyabi" demanded the elimination of anything which was absurd or vulgar and the polishing of manners, choice of words, and feelings to eradicate all roughness and crudeness so as to attain the highest grace." That might be something I have knowledgeable there on that day.

The way it is placed in the scenery is wonderful with beautiful environmentally friendly mountains in the backdrop. The water surrounds the building and it indeed includes a beautiful reflections. After viewing so many temples, you may get bored and think that temple is just just one more. You're wrong, this tabernacle is unique.

The additional factors around Kinkakuji such seeing that silent ponds, a clean waterfall, prayerful statue and restful tea rooms combination together beautifully and bring about the overall charm on the temple. The air there exists purifying.

One note nevertheless. Prepare yourself for a lot of people as it is often a popular spot for travelers. The amount of holidaymakers there can diminish a new relaxed feeling one would want to experience going to temples or wats and Japanese gardens. Please try to find a quiet corner as it is found a large area. Take pleasure in your visit to The Golden Pavilion.
